Alternative Energy

If this is true, it is really, really cool.... been waiting for this for a long time. And here is a snippet to start you off.....
As temperatures soar this summer, so do electric bills. Researchers at the University of Houston are striving toward decreasing those costs with the next revolution in power generation. telus gets caught

Interesting yet disturbing story about Telus cutting off a local couple's phone the day the wife has a stroke at home - apparently they were victims of the modem hijacking scams going on lately and were attempting to pay off the bill with Telus ($1,100 worth, ouch - c'mon Telus - greedy bastards).... no phone - no 911 - oh shit, I wouldn't want to be in the credit dept at Telus these days - ha! they will be sued silly! It is just too bad that their incompetence has now perhaps almost cost someone their life... sad really.

Funtastic weekend

Was a good weekend for the ball players that flooded our town over the recent long weekend for the 20th annual Funtastic Festival, a huge 304 team tournament that has turned into a giant beer garden party!

If you have never been to this event, have some fun and come hang out for the weekend, the beer is cold, the entertainment is great and there is always something going on. Kudos to the executive comittee for putting on a great show and raising some money for the community.
