Somewhere in the deep recesses of my organic storage matter lies a brief memory of fruit flavoured potato chips, yes, I am serious. It recently was brought up in one of the inane conversations we have at work (where *do* these topics come from?).... of course, my co-workers thought I was crazy however after some time googling around, I found a few references to the infamous chip flavours to prove that although I may be off the wall sometimes, I am definitely not crazy and my memories are real..... btw, the flavours were cherry, orange and grape as I remember and they were put out by hostess in the old foil bags... why do these things stick in my mind? Who knows........
It is amazing how people loosen up after a few beers. Last night, a few co-workers and I went for "one out of the quick tap" at a local pub and it turned out to be quite a lot of fun, I haven't had that many laughs since the last "Trailer Park Boys" luncheon (if you have not seen these episodes, you owe it to yourself to see them - really, some of the funniest Canadian humour ever). Heard a few stories and split a gut laughing over old jokes that I had forgotten existed... I used to be able to remember jokes very well, however as I age, my organic storage device has a few I/O errors and they don't come back as well as they used to.... fortunately, we have the Internet so I don't have to remember - I had really forgotten how many Little Johnny jokes there are.... here are some.
It's Friday and it is supposed to hit 39 degrees celsius today - have a GREAT weekend!
Well, it is almost the end of the day at work..... a co-worker comes over and says "go for a beer?" being the pushover I am, I only think of it for a few seconds when the thought of an ice cold, bubbly brew takes over and I give in. I really should go home and do some more work but well, I can't resist :-)
Apparently, a lot of Canadians think the same as me
And one of my favourites is Okanagan Spring Brewery...
hahahaha, I usually rant about how dumb others are however tonight I feel like the dummy. My hard drive packed it in on me and I decided to replace it with a massive Seagate 120GB drive (gotta have a place to store all that "stuff" I need ya know)... I am sure that I will look back on this and laugh at the line "massive 120Gb". Anyways, it took me two hours to figure out that I needed to flash my bios in order for the drive to be recognized by my aging motherboard, I wasted soooo much time that I don't really have, it is kinda funny now but it wasn't a few hours ago. I guess that is just another lesson in patience and tolerance, apparently I have a long way to go....
The house is coming along, jeez, it only took one day to rip out 3 walls and now it looks quite open, you would think it would take longer by looking at the cost of renovations - ha, actually I think we got a really good deal, at least we can trust our contractor, many people can't, I consider myself fortunate to live in a town where there are long time residents that can be relied upon.
I can't find my digital camera so I have no pics to post... although I think someone took some regular pictures , we will have to scan them in after they are developed the old fashioned way, by taking them to the 1 hour photo - hahaha, I must be getting old, I remember when it took a few days to get them back.... ah well, soon we will all be digital. Got lots going on, I hope I will update the blog with interesting things and a new look later in the summer when I am moved in and settled.. then my creativity will soar. I have been thinking of using this as a forum for all things anti-cable, from the poor service to the outragous business pratices to the massive layoffs... let me know what you think....
one link for you here - albinoblacksheep.com
where does time go? It was a "short week" this week, one of those funny Tuesday Canadian holidays where the day off felt like a brief gulp of fresh air - only to be squeezed, then coughed out by the machine we call work.... hahaha, well, at least at my job, we have a tiny bit of control over what we do, so it is not like I work on an assembly line or anything, (not that there is anything wrong with that mind you, no need to get your panties in a knot if you happen to work on one)....
I am exhausted all the time lately and ranting about things, my life has been in a turmoil for the past few weeks (months actually but who's counting?) with moving, renovations, job demands... blah blah blah... but you don't login to be a virtual shrink now do ya? (Well, actually I don;t think anybody comes here but me) OK, you've read thru my blah blah blah, here's a good link for those of you who have any interest in *real* on-line magazines - Zinio... cool stuff. Merge this concept with the new polymers and OLight technology and I think we got a winner!... an electronic magazine that we can flip through on the toilet! - we could sell millions of "reader" devices......
